What are Codex Artifacts?
Codex Artifacts are a side workspace inside Codex where drafts open as fully formatted, usable documents instead of plain text responses.
When you generate a draft, it can be opened in the Artifact panel, allowing you to:
View the document in a clean, formatted layout
Edit content directly within Codex
Continue refining it using AI
This removes the need to move content between tools and keeps your workflow in one place.
Supported Artifact Types
Codex supports three types of artifacts depending on what you need to create:
Documents — Structured text drafts such as notices, agreements, legal communications, and summaries.
PowerPoint (PPT) — Presentation files generated from a single prompt. Use these for case analysis presentations, litigation portfolio summaries, business reports, and more.
Excel Spreadsheets — Data-ready files created instantly from a prompt. Use these to organise case data, build trackers, prepare MIS-ready outputs, and summarise information in tabular form.

How Codex Artifacts work
Artifacts are created when you generate a structured draft in Codex.
Workflow:
Enter your requirement in Codex
A structured draft is generated
Click Open to view it in the Artifact workspace
The document appears in a formatted layout
From here, you can:
Use View mode to see the formatted document
Switch to Edit mode to make manual changes
Use the prompt bar to ask AI for updates
Each AI update creates a new version of the document, allowing you to track and refine changes easily.
Step-by-Step: Use Codex Artifacts
1. Go to Codex
2. Enter your requirement in simple language
3. Submit the prompt
4. A structured draft will be generated
5. Click Open to view the draft in the Artifact (side workspace)
6. Inside the Artifact:
Use View mode to see the formatted document
Switch to Edit mode to make changes

8. A new version of the document will be created
9. Open any version to continue editing or refining
