This article explains how to use the Translate Files feature within the IPR module to translate documents attached to a patent into a language of your choice.
Context
Patent filings in India can include documents in regional languages β examination reports, hearing notices, office actions, and other official communications from the patent office. Legistify AI's Translate Files feature allows you to translate any attached document into English or other supported languages, giving you a clear and accurate understanding of the content without relying on external translation services.
How to Translate Patent Files
Step 1: Go to the Patent Section
From the left-hand navigation bar, click on Patent.
Step 2: Find the Relevant Patent
On the patent listing page, locate the patent whose documents you want to translate. Use the search bar or scroll through the list to find it.
Step 3: Open the Patent Details Page
Click on the patent to open its details page.
Step 4: Access the Legistify AI Panel
The Legistify AI panel is on the right side of the patent details page. Click on the Translate Files button at the top of the panel.
Step 5: Select the Document to Translate
A list of documents attached to the patent will appear. Select the file you want to translate.
Step 6: Choose the Target Language
Select the language you want the document translated into. Supported options include English, Hindi, and other regional languages.
Step 7: View the Translated Document
Legistify AI will process the selected document and display the translated version directly on screen.

Click Regenerate Translation to re-run the translation if you feel the initial output needs refinement or if the original document has been updated.
