This article explains how to use the AI Generated Summary feature within the IPR module to quickly understand the key details of any design you are tracking.
Context
Keeping track of design details across a large portfolio takes time. The AI Generated Summary feature in Legistify AI gives you an instant, structured overview of a design covering its basic details, filing information, and applicant details — all in one place without having to read through the full record manually.
How to Generate a Design Summary
Step 1: Go to the Design Section
From the left-hand navigation bar, click on Design.
Step 2: Find the Relevant Design
On the design listing page, locate the design you want to summarise. Use the search bar or scroll through the list to find it by design number, article name, or applicant name.
Step 3: Open the Design Details Page
Click on the design to open its details page.
Step 4: Access the Legistify AI Panel
The Legistify AI panel is available on the right side of the design details page. It opens automatically and displays the AI Generated Summary by default.
Step 5: View the Generated Summary
The AI Generated Summary is displayed at the top of the Legistify AI panel. It provides a concise overview of the design's key details instantly.
Understanding Your AI-Generated Design Summary
The AI-generated summary extracts and presents the most important information about the design. Here is a general overview of what it covers:
1. Basic Details
Design Number
Article Name
Design Class (Locarno Classification)
Current Status
Filing Date
Journal Number
Journal Date
2. Applicant Information
Name or names of the applicant or applicants (including joint applicants where applicable)
Additional Features
Once the summary is displayed, you will find two options at the top of the panel:
Regenerate Summary
Click Regenerate Summary to refresh the summary if the design's status or documents have been updated since the last generation. This ensures the summary always reflects the latest available information.
Download
Click Download to export the AI-generated summary as a PDF for offline access or to share with your team or clients.
