Setting Up Role-Based Access in Contract Management

Learn how to configure role-based permissions for each user type in the Contract Management module, giving you precise control over what each role can see and do across the platform.

Written by Akshat Singhal

Overview

Role-based access allows you to define exactly what each type of user in your organisation can access and action within the Contract Management module. Permissions are grouped by functionality and assigned independently to four roles: Admin, Business, Legal, and Others. Use checkboxes to enable or disable each permission per role, and save your configuration when done.

How to Access Role-Based Access

1. Click on Settings from the left-hand navigation bar.
2. Click on User Management.

3. Select the Role Based Access tab.

User Roles

Permissions are configured across four roles:

  • Admin: full access by default; typically your platform administrators and legal leads

  • Business: business team members involved in contract creation and review

  • Legal: legal team members responsible for drafting, reviewing, and approving contracts

  • Others: all other users with limited access

How to Configure Permissions

Each permission is listed on the left side of the page alongside checkboxes for each role. Tick or untick a checkbox to grant or remove that permission for the relevant role. Once you have made your changes, click Save Change at the bottom right. Click Discard to undo any unsaved changes.

Conclusion

Keeping role-based access well-configured ensures that users only see and interact with the parts of the platform relevant to their responsibilities. Reviewing these settings periodically — especially when onboarding new team members or restructuring teams — helps maintain security and prevents accidental changes to contracts by users who should only have view access.
