Overview
The Image-Image feature in the Protect section identifies trademarks whose logos or images are visually similar to yours. The system automatically considers all logos and images listed in your Track section and scans for filed trademarks with a matching visual profile. This helps you catch potential infringements based on visual identity rather than name alone.
How Image-Image Matching Works
The system takes the logos and images configured in your Track section and compares them against filed trademark images. Results are ranked by visual similarity score and displayed in a table showing both your image and the threat image side by side for easy comparison.
Example 1: Mark — 8MONK
The tool surfaces trademarks such as:
MINK (Registered) — 100% similarity, Class 25
MINK (Abandoned) — 100% similarity, Class 25
Example 2: Mark — ECO SURE
The tool surfaces trademarks such as:
ECO — 100% similarity, Class 3
SURE CONTROL BU — 100% similarity, Class 3
E C O — 100% similarity, Class 3
Reading the Results
Each result shows:
My Class — your trademark class
My Mark — your trademark name
Threat Mark — the name of the visually similar trademark
My Image — your trademark logo thumbnail
Threat Image — the threat mark logo thumbnail
Similarity — percentage visual similarity score
Threat Class — class of the threat mark
Threat Prop. Name — proprietor name of the threat mark
Threat Status — current filing status (e.g. Registered, Abandoned, Cancelled, Objected, Send To Vienna Codification)
Threat DOA — date of application of the threat mark
Actions — refresh and + to track
Filtering Results
Use the filter tabs at the top to refine results:
Same Class — shows threat marks in the same class as yours
Diff. Class — shows threat marks in a different class
Best Practices
Regularly update the logos and images in your Track section to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Pay attention to threat marks with a Registered status as these represent active conflicts that may need immediate action.
Click on any row to open the Mark Comparison panel for a detailed side-by-side view of both marks.
