Overview
The Document Verification feature allows you to verify the authenticity of documents uploaded to a contract directly from the Documents tab. Select a document, choose the verification type, enter the relevant document number, and run the verification.
Results are sourced from official registries via Legistify eKYC and the document is marked with a Verified status once successfully checked.
1 credit is consumed per verification.

How to Verify a Document
1. Open a contract and go to the Documents tab.
2. Click the Verify button at the top right of the Documents tab.
3.The Verify a Document panel opens on the right.
4. Under 1. Select Document, choose the document you want to verify from the dropdown. Documents already verified show a green tick next to their name.
5. Under 2. Select document type, choose the type of document (PAN, Aadhaar, GSTIN, CIN/COI, or Bank Account).
6. Under 3. Document number, enter the relevant document number.
7. Click Run Verification.
Verification Results
Once verification is complete, the Doc Verification panel displays the results.
If verification is successful, you will see:
Verified against source — confirmation that the document matches the official registry
Verification details — the detected document type and the verification source (Legistify eKYC)
Details — the data extracted from the official registry, such as GSTIN, corporate name, legal name, trade name, status, registration date, constitution, and taxpayer type
The document in the Documents list is marked with a Verified badge, making it easy to identify which documents have been successfully checked.
Click Re-verify to run the verification again, or Download to save the verification result.
