Overview

The Document Verification feature lets you verify the authenticity of documents uploaded to a notice, directly from the Documents tab. Select a document, choose the document type, enter the document number, and run the verification. The result comes from official records through Legistify eKYC, and the document is marked Verified once it passes.

1 credit is consumed per verification.

Supported Document Types

  • PAN

  • Aadhaar

  • GSTIN

  • CIN / MCA

  • Bank account

How to Verify a Document

  1. Open a notice and go to the Documents tab.

  2. Click Verify at the top right, next to Upload.

  3. The Verify a Document panel opens on the right.

  4. Under 1. Select Document, choose the document you want to verify.

  5. Under 2. Document Type, choose the type of document.

  6. Under 3. Document number, enter the document number. This field is required, and it becomes available once you choose a document type. For Bank account, a second field appears below it for the bank’s IFSC code. Enter that as well.

  7. Click Run Verification. Click Cancel to close the panel without verifying.

Verification Results

When verification finishes, the Doc Verification panel shows the result.

If it succeeds, you will see:

  • Verified against source: confirmation that the document matches the official record

  • Verification details: the detected document type, for example Certificate of Incorporation, and the verification source, Legistify eKYC

  • Details: the information from the official record. The fields depend on the document type. For a CIN, they include the CIN, company name, ROC code, registration number, company category, company sub-category, and registered address.

The document in the list then shows a Verified badge next to its name, so you can see at a glance which documents have been checked.

Click Re-verify to run the verification again, or Download to save the result.
