Overview

The Watchers feature allows you to assign external contacts to multiple trademark applications in a single action. Watchers receive automated alerts when there are status changes or updates to the applications they are tagged to, keeping your clients or internal stakeholders informed without manual follow-up.

Step 1: Select Applications

Open the Trademark module. The list displays all your tracked trademarks with columns for App. Num, Class, Mark Name, Prop. Name, DOA, and Status.

Select the applications you want to add watchers to by ticking the checkboxes on the left side of each row. You can select as many applications as needed.

Step 2: Bulk Action Toolbar

Once you select one or more applications, a bulk action toolbar appears at the top of the list showing the number of selected items (e.g. 5 Selected) along with a set of action icons. Hover over the icons to see their labels. Click the Watchers icon to open the watcher setup panel.

Step 3: Set Up Watchers

A Setup external Watchers for the trademark panel opens on the right side of the screen. It displays a list of all existing watchers configured in your organisation. Each watcher is shown with a checkbox next to their name.

  • Tick the checkbox next to any watcher you want to assign to the selected applications.

  • You can select multiple watchers at once.

  • If the watcher you need is not in the list, click Add New Watcher to create a new entry.

Step 4: Submit

Once you have selected the watchers, click Submit to assign them to all selected applications. Click Reset to clear your selections without saving.

The selected watchers will now receive automated alerts for any updates across all the applications you selected.

Daily IP Digest Email

Once watchers are assigned, they receive updates through the Daily IP Digest email. This is a consolidated summary email covering any significant status changes, objections, or approvals related to the applications they are tagged to monitor. This allows watchers to stay informed without needing to log in to the platform.

Conclusion

The bulk Watchers feature saves time when managing large trademark portfolios by letting you assign external contacts to multiple applications in a single action. Combined with the Daily IP Digest email, it ensures the right people are always kept up to date on the applications that matter to them.
